On track with Pastor Jack

September 10, 2018 By Robert Montgomery 1 Comment

Welcome to  autumn, my friends!  Now I will be the first to admit that I am more of a hot-weather, summer person.  Even so, the fall season has its own unique charm and meaning.  For starters, most schools, colleges and universities are now in full swing and the formal, structured learning process has resumed.  Also during autumn, churches re-start ministries and activities that were suspended or reduced during the vacation days of summer.  So then, fall is essentially a “return to life season.” On September 15, First Christian Church will hold a planning meeting, one during which participants will join in prayer, biblical study, community analysis and fun fellowship—all of this in an effort to plan ministries and activities for all four seasons. God’s loving intent for humanity to experience love, redemption, justice and hope never ceases. Our job is to deliver those gifts from God through Jesus Christ. Come, join us on September 15 as we return to full life, make Godly plans for our future, and become a church for all seasons.  All are welcome!

We really need to come together as a congregation and commit to our Outreach programs. And the Outreach programs, especially new ideas can’t be formulated unless people get together. It’s not fair to expect a small portion of the congregation 2 facilitate and execute these Outreach programs. Our more mature members have a reasonable expectation of the younger generation picking up the slack and running with it. Everyone has the ability and the gifts to contribute a number of different ways.
If we are really dedicated to living out the duties and responsibilities as stewards of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, we will rise to the occasion.
